The National Archives has been gradually releasing the contents of the Colonial Office Library’s photographic collection onto Flickr over the past two years. They inherited this collection following the closure of the Colonial Office Library in 2005. It comprises more than 35,000 photographs, sketches and drawings from across the British Empire from the middle of the 19th century through to the 20th.
The images of Cyprus, around 300 in total, have gone online and can be viewed here.
One of the employees has also written a blog post about the collection,
They’d like to encourage people in Cyprus to look at the photos online and to leave comments and suggestions that may help them improve the descriptions they have at the moment.
