Speaker: The Very Reverend Dr John Chryssavgis, Archdeacon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and clergyman of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.
Title: Environment and Spirituality, Transforming Perspectives and Practices.
The lecture will be about issues on environment and its theological aspects and the initiatives of His All-Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. The Very Reverend Dr John Chryssavgis was Professor of Theology at Holy Cross Seminary in Boston and Director of Religious Studies at Hellenic College, USA (1995-2002), where he established the Environment Office.
Currently he serves the Office of Inter-Orthodox and ecumenical relations of the Archdiocese of America and as a theological advisor to the Ecumenical Patriarch on environmental issues. He is the author of over twenty books and numerous articles in several languages on the Church Fathers and Orthodox Spirituality. Entry by invitation.
